Hey fam. Can I be real for a second? This life that we are living, yeah its not exactly a walk in the park. Like who’s idea was this anyway? But seriously though. If your mind is anywhere that mine has been, it probably feels like things are great! You know, except for the whole “it’s always something” thing. Sound familiar? I feel you.
The thing about it is, nobody ever said this trip would be a clean path with no bumps or detours. The Bible tells us in Romans 5:3-4 “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” So take confidence in the tears. Today is paving the way for tomorrow.
I know what you’re thinking. “This is easier said than done. Who do you think you are?” True fam, true. But hear me out. I finally realized that life isn’t hard because of the struggles we go through. It’s hard because we make the assumption that we’ll have this cake walk. We assume that everything will be handed to us. The scriptures also tell us, “For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.” – James 14:26. Everything that we want and dream of requires work. You want success? Pray. Do the research. Pray. Make some goals. Pray. Go for it. You want love? See what God requires of you, and become a person worth loving. You want happiness? Stop blaming others for why you are where you are and move toward the better you.
Everything is in our hands. So again, if your mind is where mine is, life is great. It has its ups and downs, but you also recognize that it’s what you make it. I for one refuse to go to sleep every night with another regret in the back of my mind. Life is too short. There’s too much to experience. There’s more than meets the eye. So, I’d like to leave you with one question. What Now? Until next time fam. God bless and stay strong.
